Hundreds of inscriptions, manuscripts and coins in the Indian museums are waiting to be worked upon by experts with degrees in the disciplines of Palaeography, Epigraphy & Numismatics. The institute is therefore introducing the first ever Masters and PhD degree program in this discipline. The eminent art historian, historian and indologist, Prof. Dr. Anupa Pande is heading the department with leading professional experts in the field as teachers.

The Masters program provides the students in-depth knowledge and expertise in the study of inscriptions, ancient scripts, and historical coins by combining elements from history, archaeology, linguistics, and art history to offer a comprehensive understanding of the subjects. Further, the program offers the students the opportunity for hands-on experience of visiting archaeological sites, studying inscriptions, manuscripts and coins in museums.
