Documentation of Intangible Cultural Heritage: This pilot project was initiated with an idea of listing and developing inventories of the Ladakh and Western Uttar Pradesh Region. Department of Museology is working on the documentation of Intangible Cultural Heritage in the region of Western Uttar Pradesh and Ladakh. NMI is developing the inventory on ICH in these two states of India. The purpose is to explore the range and nature of ICH in the Indian context and list, test the formats, forms, and domains for Indian cultural context and list the ICH elements of these two regions as models for other such studies.
