ELEGIBILITY CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION


The candidate should possess such qualifications as may be prescribed by the Academic Council from time to time. Presently the following qualifications are prescribed for various courses:

M.A. (Conservation):
Graduation or Post-graduation with any one of the following subjects -Chemistry/ Physics/ Geology/ Botany/ Zoology/ Computer Sci./ Fine Arts/ History / History of Art/ Architecture/ Archaeology/ Museology/ Designing
Or Diploma recognized as equivalent to graduation degree in above fields.

Ph.D. (for all disciplines):
  1. A masters degree from a recognized University / Institution of higher learning with high second class (55% marks) in the subject concerned or related subject. Relaxation in the marks for specified categories shall be as per Government of India / University Grants Commission's orders / guidelines / notifications issued form time to time.

  2. Candidate should be of at least 22 years of age before his/her admission.

  3. Knowledge of two foreign languages (other than English) / Indian languages (other than mother tongue) is preferred. However, if the candidate does not possess proficiency in these languages, he/she may be permitted to develop proficiency during the course of his/her study. No degree shall be awarded unless a student has acquired proficiency in any two of the above mentioned languages and passed the examination prescribed/conducted by the Institute.
