ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS FOR AWARD OF M.A./Ph.D. DEGREES

For award of M.A. degree, passing of 13 courses and 2 seminars with at least 50% marks, proficiency in one Foreign (other than English) / Indian language (other than mother tongue), qualifying the special courses prescribed, if any, and dissertation is essential.

For Ph.D. degree, presentation of six seminars and obtaining 50% of marks in them, proficiency in two Foreign (other than English) / Indian languages (other than mother tongue) and dissertation are the requirements.

Short Term Certificate Courses

Presently, the Institute is offering three short-term courses of five months duration viz. "India: Art & Culture", "Art Appreciation" and Bhartiya Kalanidhi (Hindi medium). Each of these courses consists of 20 lectures (each lecture of two hours duration). No minimum qualifications other than age (candidates should not be below 19 years of age) are prescribed for admission to these certificate courses.
