September 2022

Village Outreach Program : Village Outreach program, KVS, Banikhet, Himachal Pradesh

The three days w orkshop on "" was conducted in Kendriya Vidhyalaya, NHPC, Banikhet, Himachal Pradesh from 20th – 22th September, 2022 aimed for the students as well teachers.  The workshop and the exhibition were designed with the intention to disseminate knowledge on Indian Art and culture and to spread awareness of India's rich Heritage to the students. The workshop included a series of lectures, interactive sessions and class activities. The lectures were developed according to the syllabus of students so that they can have a better understanding of Indian Art and Cultural heritage. To engage the students in the workshop, worksheets were designed for them which included drawing and colouring, puzzles and story writing fabricated around Indian art and culture. There were fun game sessions in between the lectures to increase the active participation of the students.

Village Outreach Program : “हमारी संस्कृति हमारी पहचानः भारतीय संस्कृति में कला का योगदान”

The three days workshop on "“हमारी संस्कृति हमारी पहचानः भारतीय संस्कृति में कला का योगदान" was conducted in Kendriya Vidyalaya Kausani, Uttrakhand from 24th – 26th September, 2019 aimed for the students as well teachers. The workshop included series of lectures related to their NCERT course book followed by interactive activities for the students. As a part of workshop, an exhibition was setup of prints of landmarks of Indian Art History from their textbooks. This exhibition is a permanent contribution to the school, which helped the students to learn not only through their textbook but also provided them visual experience.

February 2019

A one-day workshop on ‘Modern Expressions of Indian Art’

The Department of History of Art under its Art History enrichment programme collaborated with Kendriya Vidyalaya, NTPC, Dadri to organize a one-day workshop on 1st February 2019 where 80 students were invited along with their teachers. The students attended a lecture delivered by Dr Savita Kumari on “Modern Expressions of Indian Art”. The lecture was followed by a curated walk at the National Museum, where the museum objects helped the students relate to their course structure.

Village Outreach Program, Ramgarh, Uttarakhand

Department of History of Art, National Museum Institute has organised a three day workshop Titled "Apni Dharohar Jano: Bhartiya Kala avam Sanskriti, Deshbhakti ka Prerna Strota" in Ramgadh, Uttarakhand for school students from 11th September 2018 to 13th September 2018.

December 2017

Teacher’s Training Resource Planning, Village Outreach Program - Patna, Bihar"

The first phase of Teacher’s Training Program, part of Village Outreach Program started with  a four days trip to Patna, Bihar from 18th December 2017 to 21st December 2017 by Assistant Professor Dr. Savita Kumari and two R.A’s Nikita Rathore and Roshini Roy Festus. In the program sites such as Gol Ghar, Khuda Baksha Oriental Library, Patthar ki Masjid, Agam Kuan and Sher Shah Masjid in Patna were visited to understand the local cultural and historical monuments and heritage of Bihar. Government schools of Patna were visited and Survey was done. Feedback of teachers and students were taken after giving a demonstration of the Teacher’s Training Program in the class.

Bihar Museum was visited and a tour of all galleries of the Museum was given by the official of the Museum. Dr. Savita Kumari gave the presentation to show the outline of the program. Brain storming session and group discussion took place with the director, curators, museum educators and staff of Bihar Museum. Barabar Hill Caves, Bodhgaya Temple and Patna Museum was visited and documentation was done.
