Arts Management Workshop
(08th - 11th March, 2022)
The Department of History of Art has organised an online workshop on Arts Management for M.A students and Ph.D. scholars from 8th – 11th March 2022, under the guidance of Prof. (Dr) Anupa Pande, Director/Pro-VC & and HoD (HoA), and Dr. Savita Kumari, Assistant Professor (HoA).
This workshop has been designed as an introduction to Arts Management that aims to impart knowledge to the student to negotiate the real-world challenges that are faced by art professionals in the field daily. The workshop entailed eight sessions by well-known professionals from the varied field of art and culture namely: Anjchita B. Nair (Co-Founder & COO at Cultre), Bikram Bindra (Global Marketing-Creative Strategy on ABSOLUT), Aditya Arya (Founder of Museo Camera), Josh Dobbins (Associate South Asia at Flint Culture), Prof. A Damodaran (Professor, Arts Management, Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore), Pranesh Prakash (Co-founder and former policy director of center for Internet and society) and Vaibhav Chauhan (Founder & CEO of Cultre, Founding Secretary Sahapedia.org). The session has focused on the theories and practices behind strategic planning and decision-making in art organizations today. The workshop has helped the students to inculcate strategies and plans for managing arts organizations, including business plans, fund-raising, cultural policies, facilities, and program development. |
